The Perfect Gin and Tonic

It might only have two ingredients but this classic cocktail needs your undivided attention to get the balance right.

Ingredients:

2 ounces Thomas Dakin gin

4 ounces tonic water

Lime wheels, Cucumber or sprig of mint to garnish

Ice

Method:

Fill a highball glass with two large ice cubes

Add gin

Top with the tonic water and gently stir

Garnish

Classic Gin Martini

Channel your inner James Bond with a Classic Martini - shaken, not stirred of course.

Ingredients:

2 ½ ounces Berkeley Square London Dry Gin

½ ounce dry vermouth

Green olives and lemon rind to garnish

Crushed ice

Method:

Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice

Add gin and vermouth

Shake (don't stir) for about 30 seconds

Strain into martini glass

Garnish with olive or lemon twist and serve

Hanky Panky

Named after a celebrated actor who exclaimed that the drink was “the real hanky panky” at the Savoy’s American Bar in the 1920s, this cocktail really does get your knickers in a twist.

Ingredients:

1 ½ ounces Greenall’s Gin

1 ½ ounces sweet vermouth

2 dashes Fernet-Branca

Twist of orange rind to garnish

Ice cubes

Method:

Add the ice, gin, sweet vermouth and Fernet-Branca to a cocktail shaker or mixing glass

Stir until well-chilled

Strain into a chilled Martini glass

Garnish with an orange rind twist

French 75

Because what’s not to like about gin and Champagne?

Ingredients:

2 ounces Bloom London Dry Gin

¾ ounce fresh lemon juice

¾ ounce simple syrup

2 ounces Champagne

Long spiral lemon rind twist to garnish

Method:

Combine gin, lemon juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker

Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds until the outside of shaker is very cold

Strain into a large flute or Champagne saucer

Top with Champagne

Garnish with lemon twist

The Gin-Gin Mule

Traditionally thought of as a vodka cocktail, this modern take on the Moscow Mule has everything that both gin and vodka cocktail drinkers love.

Ingredients:

8 mint leaves

¾ ounce fresh lime juice

1 ounce simple syrup

1 ½ ounces Greenall’s London Dry Gin

4-5 ounces ginger beer (enough to fill)

Mint sprig, to garnish

Ice

Method:

Add the mint leaves, lime juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker and crush well to release the flavours

Add the gin

Fill shaker with ice

Shake well

Strain into a highball glass or copper cup filled with fresh ice

Top up with ginger beer

Garnish with a sprig of mint

Gin Fizz

The frothy, fizzy, protein-charged cousin of the Tom Collins.

Ingredients:

2 ounces Bloom London Dry Gin

¾ ounce fresh lemon or lime juice

¾ ounce simple syrup

2 ounces soda water (or enough to fill)

Lemon peel to garnish

Optional: 1 egg white

3-4 Ice cubes

Method:

Add the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white (if using) to a cocktail shaker

Dry-shake (without ice) for about 15 seconds

Add 3 or 4 ice cubes and shake vigorously until well-chilled (about 20 seconds)

Double-strain into a chilled Collins glass

Top with soda water

Pink Gin Fizz

Why just have just pink when you can have pink and fizzy?

Ingredients:

1 ½ ounces of Bloom Jasmine and Rose Gin

1 ounce of fresh lemon juice

¼ ounce of sugar syrup

¼ ounce of Grenadine syrup

3 ounces of soda water to fill

Strawberries, raspberries and lemon wedge to garnish

Ice

Method:

Put some large ice cubes to a cocktail shaker

Add the gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and grenadine to the shaker

Shake well

Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice

Top off with soda water

Garnish with fresh fruit and a lemon wedge

White Lady

A White Lady isn't just for Christmas. Enjoy this summer twist on a seasonal favourite.

Ingredients:

1 ½ ounce Bloom Passion Fruit and Vanilla Blossom Gin

¾ ounce triple sec

½ ounce fresh lemon juice

½ ounce sugar syrup

½ egg white (optional)

Lemon zest twists to serve

Handful of ice

Method:

Add the gin, triple sec, lemon juice, sugar syrup, egg white (if using) and ice into a cocktail shaker

Shake until the outside of the shaker feels very cold (around 20-30 seconds)

Strain

Discard the ice, then return the drink to the shaker and shake again until the egg white is frothy

Pour into a coupe

Garnish with a twist of lemon zest to serve

Sloe Gin Negroni

Our Sloe Gin Negroni has all the hallmarks of the original but is sweeter than a classic version. Add a splash of London Dry to make it less sweet.

Ingredients:

⅓ ounce Greenall’s Sloe gin

⅓ ounce Greenall’s London Dry Gin (optional)

⅓ ounce Campari

⅓ ounce Sweet Vermouth

Orange zest to garnish

Ice

Method:

Fill a mixing glass three-quarters full with ice

Add the Sloe Gin, London Dry Gin if using, Campari and Sweet Vermouth.

Stir gently until fully chilled

Garnish with a twist of orange zest

Elderflower, Blueberry and Cucumber Gimlet

Be as cool as a cucumber with this year round summer Elderflower gin cocktail.

Ingredients:

1 ½ ounces Greenall’s Blueberry Gin

1 ounce St. Germain liqueur

1 ounce fresh lime juice

One 2” piece of peeled cucumber, quartered lengthwise and cut crosswise into ¼″ thick pieces

Thinly sliced cucumber round to garnish

Ice

Method:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice

Add the gin, St. Germain and lime juice

Add the cucumber pieces and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds

Strain the cocktail into a martini glass

Garnish with a slice of cucumber
